Relaxation

Yesterday was a beautiful day here in the Valley so we decided to just take it easy and enjoy our beautiful surroundings. We had decided we would extend our stay and do an overnight trek but it wasn't to be as the guiding company had a family emergency and weren't operating so relaxing was it.

The day started with a yoga class taught by yours truly. Not a whole lot else followed from that other than lunch at the Mistral distillery where we tried the traditional crab pie for the first time, which we accompanied with empanadas and a salad of avocado and heart of palm. Oh and of course washed down with pisco sours... Those things are dangerous!

It was then back 'home' for some reading and a run (or an attempted run in my case), until more eating and drinking for dinner at our hotel restaurant. It's a tough life I tell ya!

Today we have to drag ourselves from this wonderful spot and return the freedom that is our rental car. We then have the exciting prospect of getting on another overnight bus to San Pedro de Atacama, which a desert located 1,000 or so kms north, close to the Bolivian border. While I'm not so excited about the prospect of the bus trip, I am pretty excited for some more adventures that are sure to be coming our way!

It all sounds very cool. I'm curious as to what the terrain was like where you ran or tried to run?

We went straight into a hill like the golden stairs and my lunch hadn't quite settled which meant I then thought I was going to throw up. Not fun
